Medical Interpreter Training

The Medical Interpreter Training Course includes the following 2 courses

Practical English for Health Occupations

This is a 32-hour program conducted over 16 class sessions.  Each session is two hours long and has a practical component where the student applies the training and skills necessary to start a career in health care. The overall goal of this course is to provide the student with an introduction and overview of medical language, with emphasis on basic, essential terminology; law, ethics, and process of the health care and medical fields.

Monday & Wednesday 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

 

Medical Interpreter 

This is a 36-hour program conducted over 12 class sessions.  Each session is three hours long and has a practical component where the student applies the training and skills necessary for effective health care interpreting.  The training program is based on the model that allow participants to actively practice client centered and culturally competent service delivery that is both reflective and skill based.
